We keep Anconas for their prolific, and delicious, eggs—and for their well-earned reputation as eager foragers, keeping pest populations in check without tearing up the gardens as chickens are apt to do.
Anconas are a rare, dual-purpose heritage breed, laying well over 200 eggs per year and producing a high quality meat that tends to be less fatty than other breeds. They are calm, don't stray too far, and are extremely alert when it comes to predator threats.
We may be selling eggs or certified organic ducklings in the near future. Please be in touch if you're interested.
